Hoagie Dip

Just because the Eagles aren't in the game doesn't mean you shouldn't add Hoagie Dip to your Super Bowl party menu. This Philadelphia favorite is exactly what it sounds like it should be: the contents of a hoagie (known in other locales as "hero" or "sub") rendered into scoopable form. Head to your local deli and buy all of the things you would put into a sandwich: lettuce, onion, tomato, cold cuts, cheese -- it's all fair game.

Hoagie Dip

Our dip replicates an Italian hoagie, which contains lettuce, ham, salami, prosciutto, provolone and onion. Toss that with olive oil, vinegar and a couple pinches of basil and oregano (a.k.a. "hoagie dressing"). Cut up rolls for dipping. Serve to the horror and delight of the uninitiated!
