Out to Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania for the Bloomsburg Fair . . .<\/p>\n

September 26, 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n

Drove past the Meadowlands Sports Complex<\/a> on an accident-related detour and saw Giants Stadium one last time:<\/p>\n

\"Meadowlands<\/p>\n

Because of the detour, we couldn’t figure out how to get to Tick Tock Diner in Clifton so we tried a new one, the Versailles Diner<\/a> on Route 46 in Fairfield.<\/p>\n

The Pine Brook Motor Lodge in Pine Brook, New Jersey on the way to Interstate 80:<\/p>\n

\"Pine<\/p>\n

The Bloomsburg Fair<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\"Bloomsburg<\/p>\n

Didn’t notice the hilariously snippy comments in the flower arrangement competition in the Horticulture Hall the last time we went to the fair:<\/p>\n

\"Horticulture<\/p>\n

We of course overindulged in pit beef<\/a> and pierogies<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\"Beef<\/p>\n

\"Pierogies,<\/p>\n

And then there’s the livestock<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\"Swine<\/p>\n

\"Swine<\/p>\n

And poultry and rabbits<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\"Poultry<\/p>\n

\"Poultry<\/p>\n

And an exhaustive Russ Berrie Figurine collection in the Arts and Crafts Hall<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Slept at the Pine Barn Inn<\/a> in Danville<\/a>.<\/p>\n

September 27, 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n

For breakfast, ate a Cheesesteak Omelette at the New Bloomsburg Diner<\/a> (mmm):<\/p>\n

\"Cheesesteak<\/p>\n

Drove through Catawissa<\/a> on our way to Knoebels Amusement Park<\/a> in Elysburg:<\/p>\n

\"Knoebels<\/p>\n

Rode on The Phoenix<\/a> and Twister<\/a> roller coasters, two wood-frame thrill rides at Knoebels:<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

\"Twister<\/p>\n

Here’s what The Phoenix is like<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Rode on the Skyway<\/a> up to the top of one of the hills in the valley there:<\/p>\n

Bought pumpkins at Richard’s Scattered Acres Farm Market<\/a> just down the road from Knoebels:<\/p>\n

Drove through Mt. Carmel<\/a> on our way to Centralia to see the Underground Mine Fire<\/a> steaming at the surface of the abandoned town:<\/p>\n

\"Underground<\/p>\n

Ate fantastic pumpkin soft serve at May’s Drive In<\/a> in Ashland, Pennsylvania:<\/p>\n

\"May's<\/p>\n

Made it to the Tick Tock Diner<\/a> in Clifton, New Jersey on the way home for dinner:<\/p>\n
