The Hispanic\/Latin neighborhoods north of Roosevelt:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/007108thst-34thavene.jpg\" alt=\"108th Street and 34th Avenue, NE Corner, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p>An impressive flag mural:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/010108thst-35thavene.jpg\" alt=\"108th Street and 35th Avenue, NE Corner, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you look at Google&#8217;s Street View of 108th Street, many of these buildings aren&#8217;t there &#8212; there has been a lot of new development in Corona and especially along 108th Street:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/01637thave-37thdreast.jpg\" alt=\"East Side of 108th Street Between 37th Avenue and 37th Drive, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/01737thdr-38thaveeast.jpg\" alt=\"East Side of 108th Street Between 37th Drive and 38th Avenue, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Citi Field comes into view around 38th Avenue:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/025108thst-38thaveeast.jpg\" alt=\"Looking East Down 38th Avenue From 108th Street, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Interesting to see Asian businesses expand into Corona &#8212; this is just north of Roosevelt Avenue:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/02739-06108thst.jpg\" alt=\"108 Savemart, 39-06 108th Street, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a vestigial Italian neighborhood centered around William F. Moore Park and the Lemon Ice King near 52nd Avenue:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/06751-11108thst.jpg\" alt=\"51-11 108th Street, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/070108thst-52ndavesw.jpg\" alt=\"Lemon Ice King of Corona, 108th Street and 52nd Avenue, SW Corner, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 1960s-era Terrace on the Park comes into view at 52nd Avenue:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/071108thst-52ndaveeast.jpg\" alt=\"Looking East Down 52nd Avenue From 108th Street, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p>More new development just north of the LIE:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/108thstreet\/090108thst-westsideaveeast.jpg\" alt=\"East Side of 108th Street at Westside Avenue, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/lefrakcity\/index.htm\">LeFrak City<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/corona\/lefrakcity\/14sectionthree.jpg\" alt=\"LeFrak City From Horace Harding Expressway, Corona, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/queens\/elmhurst\/jamaicasavingsbank\/index.htm\">Jamaica Savings Bank<\/a> in Elmhurst, which was an official city landmark until it wasn&#8217;t:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/queens\/elmhurst\/jamaicasavingsbank\/1112-23-09.jpg\" alt=\"Jamaica Savings Bank, 89-01 Queens Boulevard, Elmhurst, Queens\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A day of walking through Corona, Queens, ending up in Elmhurst near the mall.
