Two new ones from this weekend &#8212; Pearl Oyster Bar and Hi-Life Restaurant &#038; Lounge:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/manhattan\/villages\/west\/pearloysterbar\/01pearloyster01-30-09.jpg\" alt=\"Employees Must Wash Hands, Pearl Oyster Bar, 18 Cornelia Street, West Village, Manhattan, January 30, 2009\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/manhattan\/ues\/hilife\/01hilife01-31-09.jpg\" alt=\"Employees Must Wash Hands, Hi-Life Restaurant &amp; Lounge, 1503 Second Avenue, Upper East Side, Manhattan, January 31, 2009\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Before it occurred to me to start taking pictures of &#8220;Employees . . .&#8221; signs, I remember a couple of creative signs &#8212; What Bar, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yaledailynews.com\/articles\/view\/2916\">owned by freshman State Senator Daniel Squadron<\/a>, had a good one, if memory serves and <a href=\"http:\/\/chowhound.chow.com\/topics\/240475\">Ten63<\/a>, an early coffee shop in Long Island City (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ten63jackson.com\/\">the cafe&#8217;s name has been co-opted by a condo development that replaced the building<\/a>), had a creative one that used claim tickets, again, if I remember correctly. There&#8217;s also <a href=\"http:\/\/mustwashhands.blogspot.com\/\">a whole blog devoted to the signs<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t know why I think Employees Must Wash Hands signs are funny, but they are.
