{"id":440,"date":"2012-04-11T16:04:32","date_gmt":"2012-04-11T20:04:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/blog\/?p=440"},"modified":"2012-04-11T16:04:32","modified_gmt":"2012-04-11T20:04:32","slug":"memorial-day-weekend-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/blog\/2012\/04\/11\/memorial-day-weekend-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"Memorial Day Weekend 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We were up in the Rhinebeck area for a wedding during Memorial Day 2011.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/marketstreet\/index.htm\">Market Street<\/a>, with its requisite iconic wooden Indian and Doughboy:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/marketstreet\/1105-28-11.jpg\" alt=\"Rhinebeck Smoke Shoppe, 2 East Market Street, Rhinebeck, New York\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/rhinebeckfarmersmarket\/1205-29-11.jpg\" alt=\"Rhinebeck Doughboy, East Market Street, Rhinebeck, New York\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/alstickle\/index.htm\">A.L. Stickle<\/a> store on Market Street is hard to describe &#8212; other than totally awesome, that is. It&#8217;s a time capsule of sorts what with all those Revell model car kits (do you remember <a href=\"http:\/\/www.revell.com\/\">Revell<\/a> model cars? do kids still sniff model glue?) and vintage display cases. I remember huge zipper displays in our local supermarket &#8212; what happened to all that stuff? I haven&#8217;t thought about some of these things in years. So wonderful . . .<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/alstickle\/0405-28-11.jpg\" alt=\"A.L. Stickle, 13 East Market Street, Rhinebeck, New York\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We bought some herbs and various plants at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/rhinebeckfarmersmarket\/index.htm\">Rhinebeck Farmers Market<\/a> for the backyard.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/rhinebeckfarmersmarket\/0505-29-11.jpg\" alt=\"Rhinebeck Farmers Market, Rhinebeck, New York\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/millstreet\/index.htm\">Mill Street<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/montgomerystreet\/index.htm\">Montgomery Street<\/a> both comprise U.S. 9 around Rhinebeck; one is U.S. 9 north of Market Street and the other is U.S. 9 south of Market Street. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/rhinebeckreformedchurch\/index.htm\">Rhinebeck Reformed Church<\/a> is on Mill Street, just past the Lions Club Eyeglass Drop Box:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/millstreet\/0105-28-11.jpg\" alt=\"Rhinebeck Lions Club Eyeglass Drop Box, Mill Street, Rhinebeck, New York\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The wedding was at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/bigmap\/outoftown\/hudsonvalley\/dutchesscounty\/rhinebeck\/camprisingsun-clinton\/index.htm\">Camp Rising Sun in Clinton<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We were up in the Rhinebeck area for a wedding during Memorial Day 2011.
