Diplomatic Immunity From Paying Water Rates

They rack up thousands of dollars in unpaid parking tickets. They get loaded and drive around. They beat on their families. And now we learn that they don’t pay the city for water, either:

[T]he United Nations Mission of the Republic of Niger has ignored every water bill it has received since 1998 for its elegant town house, accumulating a debt of nearly $120,000, including penalties. It ignored repeated calls for comment. Eight other foreign missions on the Upper East Side are also in debt, and collectively owe the city about $230,000.
