Bars By Zip Code

Helpful when you want to impress visitors with intriguing facts about the city:

A Post analysis of state liquor licenses by ZIP code has zeroed in on the booziest blocks, with the East Village’s 10003 rising to the top of the suds-soaked list.

There were 474 bars, restaurants and corner stores licensed to sell hooch in the hood, beating out Times Square and Hell’s Kitchen.

For further research: Is this the highest concentration of bars in the country? What about per capita? Need more details to pad out the walking tour!

And Despite What One Might Suspect, This Apparently Is Not Some Sort Of Viral Campaign To Get People Talking About The Mets

Rather, it appears to be a rogue action, albeit a rogue action clearly indicative of the state of mind and low expectations of those following the team:

Mets broadcast officials were angrier yesterday than K-Rod at a family reunion, after a TV technician played an insulting audio clip from the show “Family Guy” over shots of the Amazin’s walking off the field after Friday’s season-opening defeat.

The brief clip interrupted the doleful voice of Mets announcer Gary Cohen, as he gave the unhappy recap of the 6-2 drubbing by the Florida Marlins.

. . .

“Family Guy” fans quickly recognized the audio as a Mets-mocking gag from the Fox show’s Nov. 7 episode.

In one of the cartoon’s riffs on pop culture, the scheming baby character, Stewie Griffin, is upset that he’s not having fun on Halloween, and says the holiday is “a bigger letdown than being a Mets fan.”

The scene then cuts to Stewie sitting at a Mets game. An announcer says, “It’s Opening Day, and here’s the first pitch . . . and the season’s over!”

Leave Columbine To The Disaffected Psychopathic Teenagers . . .

. . . because after a certain point in your life, people start to treat such references as “terroristic threats”:

A Brooklyn teacher was arrested Friday after bragging about a Columbine-style plan to bring in a shotgun and “settle some scores,” sources said.

. . .

“This woman talked about pulling a Columbine and we take these threats very seriously,” a police source said, referring to the 1999 Colorado school massacre that left 13 dead.

“She made terroristic threats.”

Spoiler Alert: Major Plot Point In Future Entourage Feature Length Film Revealed

Entourage executive producer Doug Ellin is interested in buying part of the Mets:

If the group can reach a deal with the Wilpon family to buy a minority share in the beleaguered ballclub, sources told the Daily News, Ellin will enlist actors Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Ed Burns to bring their star power to Citi Field.

“I’m a giant sports fan and to be involved in a professional sports franchise would be a dream come true,” said Connolly, who plays Eric (E) Murphy on “Entourage.” “Growing up on Long Island, I was a giant Mets fan, so that makes it even more of a dream come true.”

“Yo, Tell ‘Em I Poo!”

The shit-smearing perp is unrepentant, and possibly schizophrenic, or maybe just schizophrenically unrepentant:

The 24-year-old man accused of smearing his excrement on his ex-girlfriend’s door and setting it ablaze launched into a surreal rant in front of news photographers yesterday, declaring himself a member of his own street gang and threatening to grab a photographer’s camera.

. . .

“Yo, tell ’em I poo,” he said, all while a videographer’s camera rolled.
