{"id":231,"date":"2005-05-09T14:43:44","date_gmt":"2005-05-09T22:43:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2005\/05\/only_ivy_league_or_similar_need_apply.html"},"modified":"2005-05-09T14:43:44","modified_gmt":"2005-05-09T22:43:44","slug":"only_ivy_league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/05\/only_ivy_league.html","title":{"rendered":"Only Ivy League Or Similar Need Apply"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When potential employers add &#8220;only Ivy League or similar need apply&#8221; to job postings, they&#8217;re probably not talking about smarty pants like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsquarenews.com\/news\/campus\/9607.html\">Hakan Yalincak<\/a>, who was charged in federal court for bank fraud just days before graduating from NYU&#8217;s College of Arts &#038; Sciences:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>While most graduates will walk through the arch Thursday stress-free and exuberant with success, one CAS student will be sitting behind bars in Rhode Island, contemplating a charge of multi-million dollar bank fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Hakan Yalincak, a CAS senior majoring in mathematics, pleaded not guilty on Friday at the New Haven, Conn., district court to charges of conducting a $43 million bank fraud scheme by depositing fake certified checks into bank accounts in Connecticut and Switzerland.
