{"id":2580,"date":"2007-08-03T16:46:02","date_gmt":"2007-08-04T00:46:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2007\/08\/oh_those_mischievous_mariners.html"},"modified":"2007-08-03T16:46:02","modified_gmt":"2007-08-04T00:46:02","slug":"oh_those_mischi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2007\/08\/oh_those_mischi.html","title":{"rendered":"Oh Those Mischievous Mariners . . ."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Actually, &#8220;marine mischief&#8221; sounds a lot like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ny1.com\/ny1\/content\/index.jsp?stid=1&#038;aid=72299\">a bad 50s romance novel<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>An illegal submarine bumped into trouble off the coast of Red Hook Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The replica of a Revolutionary War submarine was stopped by the Coast Guard after it came too close to the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner.<\/p>\n<p>Police took the sub&#8217;s sole occupant into custody, as well as two other men in a nearby rowboat.<\/p>\n<p>They have not been charged yet, but have been issued citations for unsafe sailing and violation of a security zone.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says the craft did not pose a terrorism threat and was a case of &#8220;three adventuresome individuals&#8221; involved in &#8220;marine mischief.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sure, it&#8217;s all <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/07\/29\/nyregion\/thecity\/29shad.html?ex=1343361600&#038;en=9e131a22202eca5f&#038;ei=5090&#038;partner=rssuserland&#038;emc=rss\">good clean urban exploration<\/a> until you start freaking out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/04\/when_you_get_ca.html\">her majesty<\/a>.
