{"id":4393,"date":"2009-01-31T08:12:17","date_gmt":"2009-01-31T13:12:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/?p=4393"},"modified":"2009-01-31T08:12:17","modified_gmt":"2009-01-31T13:12:17","slug":"is_that_st_louis_team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2009\/01\/is_that_st_louis_team.html","title":{"rendered":"Is That St. Louis&#8217; Team?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Believe it or not, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/ny_local\/2009\/01\/30\/2009-01-30_steelers_and_cardinals_fans_looking_for_-2.html\">there are at least two Arizona Cardinals fans in the New York area<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>It&#8217;s an island of red in a Big Blue ocean, an Arizona oasis amid fans Gang Green with envy.<\/p>\n<p>Sidebar, in Union Square, is the Super Bowl Sunday hot spot for long-suffering local Arizona Cardinals fans &#8212; a place where Larry Fitzgerald jerseys are welcomed and Terrible Towels are used to clean dishes.<\/p>\n<p>Manager Zach Israel &#8212; a Phoenix native who wears Kurt Warner&#8217;s No. 13 &#8212; hangs his Cardinals flag inside the bar at 118 E. 15th St. More than 100 Arizona backers create an unlikely red sea of support in the city&#8217;s biggest (and perhaps only?) Cardinals outpost.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s insane,&#8221; says the manager&#8217;s 23-year-old sister, Sasha, a Sidebar bartender. &#8220;Everybody&#8217;s just so happy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And why not? The Cardinals are making their first Super Bowl trip.
