{"id":591,"date":"2006-01-06T10:46:40","date_gmt":"2006-01-06T18:46:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2006\/01\/two_faced_all_the_way.html"},"modified":"2006-01-06T10:46:40","modified_gmt":"2006-01-06T18:46:40","slug":"two_faced_all_t","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/01\/two_faced_all_t.html","title":{"rendered":"Two Faced All The Way"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TWU Executive Board members were upset to learn that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/01\/thats_america.html\">a fellow board member sold transit strike ephemera on Ebay<\/a>, as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/news\/regionalnews\/59018.htm\">the Post reports today<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Leaders of the Transport Workers Union were outraged yesterday that a fellow official sold strike posters they had autographed for posterity.<\/p>\n<p>Eladio Diaz, an executive board member of the TWU Local 100, actually auctioned off one of the posters yesterday &#8212; for $15 on eBay &#8212; and insiders said he is in hot water for cashing in on the placards without the union&#8217;s authorization.<\/p>\n<p>TWU officials who signed the placards said they had believed they would be put up in the union hall or kept as personal mementos &#8212; not sold on an auction Web site.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was shocked to see it was Eladio who put it on eBay. It looks like he&#8217;s desperate for money,&#8221; said John Mooney, a vice president of stations, who signed the placards.<\/p>\n<p>Mooney said Diaz always gives the impression that he&#8217;s a &#8220;man of the people&#8221; who wouldn&#8217;t &#8220;sell out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s two-faced all the way,&#8221; Mooney said.<\/p>\n<p>Diaz declined repeated calls for comment.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fifteen dollars seems like a steal, actually &#8212; hope that was worth it for him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TWU Executive Board members were upset to learn that a fellow board member sold transit strike ephemera on Ebay, as the Post reports today: Leaders of the Transport Workers Union were outraged yesterday that a fellow official sold strike posters they had autographed for posterity.
