{"id":6220,"date":"2010-11-09T07:31:45","date_gmt":"2010-11-09T12:31:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/?p=6220"},"modified":"2010-11-09T07:31:45","modified_gmt":"2010-11-09T12:31:45","slug":"toward_a_better_jon_lovitz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2010\/11\/toward_a_better_jon_lovitz.html","title":{"rendered":"Toward A Better Jon Lovitz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two things we learn &#8212; one, the ubiquitous leave-an-old-ticket-on-the-wiper-blade trick doesn&#8217;t work and two, traffic agents &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com\/2010\/11\/07\/hey-ms-traffic-agent-a-break-for-a-working-stiff\/\">at least anecdotally<\/a> &#8212; seem to have a stick-it-to-the-man complex:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>So a few weeks back, Mr. Lopez tore himself a fresh piece of packaging paper and wrote out a plea to traffic agents who might not be aware of what he called FedEx policy to leave drivers responsible for certain egregious instances of illegal parking.<\/p>\n<p>The sign reads: &#8220;Fedex doesn&#8217;t pay for our tickets, we pay for our tickets, so please be considerate!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m telling you, the sign works,&#8221; Mr. Lopez said. &#8220;Most of the ticket agents are cool, and respect that we&#8217;re out here making a living. They might not have much sympathy for some big corporation, but if they know we&#8217;re paying our own tickets, some of them cut us a little slack.
