{"id":636,"date":"2006-01-27T07:59:50","date_gmt":"2006-01-27T15:59:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2006\/01\/totally_tuggish.html"},"modified":"2006-01-27T07:59:50","modified_gmt":"2006-01-27T15:59:50","slug":"totally_tuggish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/01\/totally_tuggish.html","title":{"rendered":"Totally Tuggish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Transport Workers Union wants to penalize workers who crossed the picket line by fining them, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/local\/story\/386090p-327637c.html\">the Daily News reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>A Transport Workers Union Local 100 committee passed a resolution earlier this week mandating strikebreakers pay fines to the union&#8217;s Widows and Orphans Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The fines would mirror those being imposed by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority on the more than 33,000 bus and subway workers who walked off the job Dec. 20. That&#8217;s two days for each day of the strike &#8212; or six days&#8217; worth of wages.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Those who crossed the picket line willfully damaged our ability to sustain the picket and jeopardized our ability to organize any necessary future strike action,&#8221; the track division committee said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution now goes to the local&#8217;s executive board, which meets Tuesday.
