{"id":842,"date":"2006-03-20T11:38:59","date_gmt":"2006-03-20T19:38:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2006\/03\/i_never_trust_fortune_tellers_because_they_never_tell_me_anything_good.html"},"modified":"2006-03-20T11:38:59","modified_gmt":"2006-03-20T19:38:59","slug":"i_never_trust_f","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/03\/i_never_trust_f.html","title":{"rendered":"I Never Trust Fortune Tellers Because They Never Tell Me Anything Good"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oh my goodness <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/news\/regionalnews\/65627.htm\">some people are this stupid<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>For someone who&#8217;s supposed to be able to tell the future, Angelina Williams apparently never saw the cops coming.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old Queens fortune teller was busted Thursday on a charge of grand larceny &#8212; and then the detectives at the 114th Precinct socked her husband with a bribery rap, saying he tried to pay them to spring her.<\/p>\n<p>Williams scammed a 28-year-old Astoria resident out of $11,000, police sources told The Post last night.<\/p>\n<p>The woman wised up, but her awakening came only after she had handed over her life savings, the sources said.<\/p>\n<p>The shady seer allegedly told her mark this month that supernatural forces had identified &#8220;a negative force in her stomach&#8221; and that the only way to get rid of it would be for her to give the fortune teller $11,000.<\/p>\n<p>On the woman&#8217;s final visit, Williams explained that &#8220;the money &#8212; the root of all evil &#8212; would absorb all the evil energy&#8221; and added that she &#8220;was more than happy to get rid of it for her,&#8221; a police source said.<\/p>\n<p>But after giving Williams payments of $2,500 and $8,500, the woman started thinking that &#8212; just maybe &#8212; she was being conned. So she finally called the police.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And when we say stupid, that also applies to people who try to bribe police officers:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Detectives arrested Williams in her second-floor Astoria apartment Thursday afternoon, and, while in custody, she called her husband, David Miller, also 22.<\/p>\n<p>Miller allegedly arrived at the precinct late that night and proceeded to offer $600 to have his wife released on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>The detectives played along just long enough to get the alleged bribe attempt on tape &#8212; then locked him up, too.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oh my goodness some people are this stupid: For someone who&#8217;s supposed to be able to tell the future, Angelina Williams apparently never saw the cops coming.
