{"id":246,"date":"2015-05-30T18:32:37","date_gmt":"2015-05-30T22:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/clink\/?p=246"},"modified":"2015-05-30T18:32:59","modified_gmt":"2015-05-30T22:32:59","slug":"mint-based-cocktails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com\/clink\/2015\/05\/30\/mint-based-cocktails\/","title":{"rendered":"Mint-Based Cocktails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jen felt like a cocktail with mint, which we had in the fridge, so I googled it, looked no further than the first two results, and found basically the same kind of recipes you&#8217;d imagine people make with mint: julep, mojito, that which is tiki-inspired. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/recipe-roundup-cocktails-with-119132\">This link<\/a> led to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/recipe-pimms-italiano-with-min-86122\">this Pimm&#8217;s-based cocktail<\/a>, something with Pimm&#8217;s, Fernet-Branca, ginger ale, lemon, mint and cucumbers (I&#8217;ve not yet broached the cucumber realm at home; not sure I ever will). I hate topping things off with ginger ale or club soda or anything else because it seems impure. Also, we don&#8217;t have any Pimm&#8217;s. And then there&#8217;s the cucumber thing.  So here&#8217;s what I made:<\/p>\n<p>2 ounces gin<br \/>\n.5 ounce lemon juce<br \/>\n.5 ounce simple syrup<br \/>\n.25 ounce Fernet-Branca<br \/>\nmint (like 4-6 big leaves)<\/p>\n<p>I muddled the mint and combined the rest in an ice-filled shaker.
