The Sideways Of Skin Art

Except the Swedish version was better:

As “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” won praise at the Academy Awards, the real life version of the movie is taking New York by storm.

Fans of the mythical creature are having it inked in studios across the city, inspired by the Chinese zodiac as well as the movie which won the Oscar for best film editing Sunday night.

. . .

The [Year of the Dragon] also coincided with the release of the movie that starred Rooney Mara, a confluence that tattoo artists say has led to a surge in requests for dragon art.

. . .

“Dragons are cool, bottom line.”

Don’t Worry, They Were Just Posing Undercover As A Bunch Of Yobbos Out For Dinner

More “good police work”* going on, this time at a steakhouse in Washington Heights:

Four New York City police detectives have been placed on desk duty and stripped of their guns and badges amid claims that they drank alcohol at a Washington Heights restaurant while on duty last week, according to a law enforcement official and the detectives’ lawyer.

In addition, the official said that one of the detectives was being investigated by the police Internal Affairs Bureau to determine if he sexually assaulted a waitress there — or if he paid for sex with her.

*Like Peter King says.

Put That In Your Pitchfork!

Martin Bisi, the guy who caught the cop sleeping, a story that resonated for people who get concerned about cops falling asleep with loaded handguns in plain view, is the same guy who recorded so many indie acts over the years, including Sonic Youth and the Swans, not to mention Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit.”

Truth And Reconciliation At The TLC

Because there were so many cab drivers cheating people, the Taxi & Limousine Commission can only focus on a few of the worst:

It was one of the biggest scandals in the taxi industry’s history, but nearly 90 percent of the 21,819 cabbies accused of ripping off passengers with inflated fares will get off scot-free, The Post has learned.

. . .

One source conceded that the sheer volume of cases made it “administratively unwieldy” to bring charges against every alleged culprit.

Who Said Carlos Beltran Was A Bad Guy?

He’ll pay for your nose job:

“They were talking in the clubhouse and somebody asked him, and he said it wasn’t a priority for him to do it,” said Beltran. “And I just said, ‘What about if it’s paid (for)? Would you do it?’ And he said, ‘Of course, I’d do it.'”

“He came to me the day after the conversation and he said ‘Are you sure you’re going to pay for it?'” he added. “I said, ‘Well, I’ll pay for it if you’re going to do it.’ I guess he was happy that he didn’t have to pay $10,000 for his nose.”

I do think Niese missed an opportunity to do a little cosmetic fix as well while they were at it, but that’s his decision . . .
