Community Boards: Is There Anything They Can’t Disapprove?

More community board ridiculousness, this time in College Park, Queens:

CB 7 is standing in the way of the free enterprise system.

Look At It This Way: At Least John Liu Understands The Real Purpose Of The Comptroller’s Office, Which Is A Stepping Stone To Higher Office

Then again, people like John Liu almost make you pine for rich folks like Bloomberg:

City Controller John Liu likes to hit the fund-raising circuit in his free time, but he also powwows with campaign contributors during his work-day, the Daily News has learned.

Because Estates And Town Cars Are So Much More “Of The People”

Newt Gingrich goes after the “elites” who cling to iPhones or Whole Foods paper bags or even a dog-eared copy of the New Yorker that is folded over to the first page of the latest refreshingly counter-intuitive piece by Malcolm Gladwell:

Concur, Right Down To The Multiple Exclamation Points!

Mandy Patinkin on the Times Square Pedestrian Mall:

[Q:] Which do you prefer, the old Times Square or the new Times Square?

[A:] The old Times Square. I hate, hate, hate the new Times Square. You want to sit at a table? Go to a restaurant or the park or stay home! Bloomberg has made the old adage “go play in the street” a reality!!! Streets are for driving cars and bikes not sitting down and having a picnic!

Location Scout: Times Square Pedestrian Mall.
