Message To The Creepy Guy Living Off Of The Ditmars Stop Who Orders Victoria’s Secret Catalogs . . .

Councilmember Peter Vallone, Jr. has looked through your garbage and is so on to you:

Last week, the infuriated lawmaker took photos of the jammed can outside his office and posted them on Facebook.

Vallone and a staffer then donned plastic gloves to check the bag’s contents in an attempt to identify the culprit. They discovered a Victoria’s Secret catalogue with a man’s name and address on it.

“I have your last name and address. Expect a visit from Sanitation to your pigsty,” Vallone posted on his Facebook page.

Faster, Nostaligia!

The Mets’ payroll depends on it:

In a decidedly odd online auction, the cash-strapped Mets are hawking seven separate chunks of the padded left-field wall, that’s been guarded by such “old-time” Amazin’s legends as Daniel Murphy and Jason Bay.

. . .

Citi Field’s nonhistoric left-field wall had always been 16 feet high, until the team decided to lower it eight feet in hopes of striking a more fair balance between pitchers and home-run hitters.

The soon-to-be-auctioned wall chunks are made up of two or seven panels, each section about 4 feet wide and 8 feet tall.

Location Scout: Citi Field.

Best Gosh Darn Third Term Ever!

You can guess the next sentence:

Almost since the recession began, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has boasted that New York City’s economy weathered the downturn better than the rest of the nation and bounced back faster.

Why Bet At All?

Because of course why bet on hooch when there’s so much good bread to send back and forth across the country:

Bloomberg and his Bay Area city counterpart, Mayor Ed Lee, engaged in a friendly wager and some trash talking Wednesday.

If the Giants win, Lee will send Bloomberg some of his city’s classic sourdough bread and hang Giants’ flags from a cable car.

But if the 49ers triumph in the NFC Championship showdown, Bloomberg agreed to rename the Theater District’s 49th St. “49ers Street” and send Lee a dozen bagels from Bagel Oasis in Queens.

Keep Pickles Pickles!

Thank goodness at least someone is taking a stand against overpriced pickles:

Fairhurst is banking on the fact that the process of fermentation, during which helpful bacteria eat the sugars in the cucumbers making them technically “alive” and in need of refrigeration, will elevate her pickles to the popularity enjoyed by other “live” products like kombucha and kim chi.

In contrast, Brooklyn’s new class of pickles — and peppers, string beans and fiddlehead ferns — are shelf-stable after being preserved in vinegar, and without all the good stuff.

Plus, they’re expensive.

“I don’t really understand [the expensive prices],” said Fairhurst, who made the move to Brooklyn after being priced out of the Lower East Side — where the shop had been since 1920 — and still sell her sells her cucs for $6 a quart. “Pick[l]ing isn’t rocket science. It’s just salt-water and garlic!”
