Mayor’s just-have-a-beer-together advice largely ignored:

At a Council meeting, Councilwoman Melissa Mark-Viverito called the mayor’s remarks “insulting” and “dismissive” and said that they ignored the “cold, hard fact” of racial bias.

. . .

On Monday, Councilman Williams and Mr. Foy were arrested after they walked into a “frozen zone” near the route of the West Indian Day Parade. Mr. Williams and Mr. Foy have said that they had been given permission to walk in the area. An amateur video shows Mr. Foy being thrown to the ground, while he appears to be retreating.

Of The Three Women That Got Pregnant In Chelsea Back In 2009, Two Opted To Abort

I know the neighborhood’s makeup is not what it once was, but some hard numbers might add some context:

The tony neighborhood of Chelsea has the highest abortion rate in the city, according to data released yesterday.

While the city’s stubbornly high abortion rate was 41%, records show about 67% of all pregnancies were terminated in Chelsea.

I almost forgot how it feels to get freaked out transferring at Grand Central:
