Rats Getting More Brazen

It’s not so much the fact that a rat chomped on a woman’s foot but rather that the rodent did it at 9:30 in the morning. Late at night is one thing, but really now:

The attack happened Monday at about 9:30 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall subway stop in Lower Manhattan, MyFoxNY.com reported Thursday.

The woman was waiting for the J train when the rat appeared below her and took a chomp out of one of her feet, which was exposed by her designer shoes.

EMS workers said they rushed the woman to New York Downtown Hospital. Her name and condition were not released by the MTA.

Fashion Week, Tenth Anniversary Version

This is the type of detail that future historians will glom onto, airbases in Uzbekistan being used by NATO allies during the first half of the Afghanistan war:

The pampered daughter of the murderous dictator of Uzbekistan — a reviled tyrant who once boiled a political foe alive and has killed, tortured and enslaved thousands of his countrymen — will unveil her new line of spring creations during Fashion Week at Lincoln Center.

Ten Years On, Authorities Proving Very Capable Of Entrapping Idiots And Calling It A Terrorism Bust

The sentencing judge blasts the types of “terrorism” cases that the mayor and the feds are pinning their counter-terrorism cred on:

“I’m not proud of my government for what it did in this case,” Manhattan federal Judge Colleen McMahon said before sentencing the last of the anti-Semitic schemers.

Just days before the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, McMahon said the convicted conspirators could be considered terrorists only “because the government made them terrorists.”

“The essence of what occurred here was that a government, understandably zealous to protect its citizens, created acts of terrorism out of the fantasies and the bravado and the bigotry of one man in particular and four men generally, and then made these fantasies come true,” she said.

The remarks followed McMahon’s admission last year that she had been privately referring to the plotters’ arrests and prosecution as “the un-terrorist case.”

This is the same case that the police commissioner and mayor ostentatiously praised back in 2009 and is it really different than many of the so-called “13 plots” that authorities have “thwarted”? The Herald Square case in particular seems just as sketchy.

What To Do In Case An Aide Is Arrested

What? Wrong aide? Oh, whatever — domestic violence, racially motivated police brutality, it’s all the same:

“And hopefully every once in a while if there’s a misunderstanding, you have a beer together and work it out.”

That’s How You Delegate!

Senior staffers should always be clear on when to ignore stuff:

One of Hizzoner’s top aides was sounding alarms about the fraud-ridden payroll system more than four years ago, The Post has learned, and the response from City Hall was silence.

The warnings came from Paul Cosgrave, the mayor’s commissioner of information technology and telecommunications at the time, according to three people with direct knowledge of the discussions. And Cosgrave brought his concerns directly to Bloomberg’s senior staffers — who are supposed to have Hizzoner’s ear.
